Untimely hair loss is a great concern for the people. It is necessary to know the anatomy of hair before undertaking care for hair loss to prevent it. A strand lasts on an average two to five years. Every month a hair grows less than half an inch. This cycle of hair growth and their fall is normal. Any hair loss beyond this cycle is abnormal and requires treatment.

Hair loss following any major surgery is temporary. With the passing of time, such losses of hair would be stopped. Diseases like diabetes and others causing hair losses can be stopped if proper medical care is taken to restrain the ailments. Hair loss after childbirth is also temporary. You need not panic over hair losses for these reasons.

Side effects of some medicines may cause hair loss. Complete stoppages of such medicines would prevent any further hair loss. And the lost hair would soon come up. The medicines causing hair losses include birth control pills, anti-depressants, excessive consumption of Vitamin A and medicines used for arthritis and gout.

Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

The health of hair is important. Genetic pattern comes first. A man may become a bald in his early years, if that is his family tradition. No care of hair can stop it. If genes are on your side, then take care of your diet and way of life. It would solve all the problems in keeping your natural beauty.

Take green leafy vegetables as much as possible in your daily intake. These apart, milk, salads, fruits and sprouts should be served daily in your lunch and dinner. Nuts, yeasts, buttermilk and Soya beans also provide the necessary vitamins.

With healthy food, get some natural elements. Some natural products like coconut oil, mustard oil. Neem leaves and camphor are of good help. Indian Ayurveda (traditional medical science) prescribes these elements for their use in the scalp and hair at a regular interval for having thick and shiny hair.
