Panic attacks can last anywhere between two and six minutes and, although they are generally thought to be over once the attack concludes, there can be several long-term effects that linger on much later. One of the main long-term effects involves flashbacks, where an individual goes back to the time when the panic attack first took place, experiencing with this a return to the negative feelings he or she felt at the time of the attack. Aside from this, a second long-term effect that may arise concerns the use of drugs that were first used to curtail the panic attacks when they first occurred. Weaning an individual off of any prescription drug may cause bodily reactions that were unexpected, or may even lead to further complications that were not originally considered.

Flashbacks, or returning to a previous point while once again encountering the emotions associated with this previous point, are one of the most common long-term effects of a flashback. Often times, a person who has experienced a flashback, describes sensations similar to what took place at the time of the original attack. Perhaps the worst part about flashbacks is that they do not just occur once, but can occur any number of times.

Moreover, there is no forewarning, so an individual never knows when he or she is about to experience one. Despite this, many doctors agree that there are certain events that may trigger a flashback. Going back to the spot where a previous attack occurred, or engaging in recreational drugs, may trigger flashbacks, although there is even some dissent concerning whether this is true or not. Still, there is no real way to avoid a flashback.

Reports have indicated, furthermore, that time does not ensure that one will not have a flashback, as some people have stated that they have had flashbacks five, even ten years after the original panic attack first took place. In a word, flashbacks tend to throw an otherwise perfectly healthy individual into a high state of confusion, can be quite scary, and are virtually unavoidable.

A second long-term consequence of panic attacks relates to the drugs that an individual may take in order to prevent them from occurring in the first place. Because of the potency of many prescription drugs, and because one's body tends to grow reliant upon them, there can be many serious long-term side effects when these drugs are no longer needed. Aside from acne and weight-gain, which are relatively minor, no longer taking a certain drug can lead to drastic mood swings, feelings of depression, seizures, and even suicidal tendencies.

These drugs alter the mind and when they are no longer needed, the mind may not know how to adjust, therefore causing these several, unexpected problems to arise. Many doctors, because of this, suggest that when a patient taking drugs to stop panic attacks no longer needs them, that the drugs be removed gradually and over time in order to prevent a patient from having serious long-term side effects that they may carry on for the rest of their lives.

* Be not afraid to seek out the help of a counselor or a therapist. They are experts in dealing with various emotional disorders. They also are bind by patience privacy oath so do not fear that your secrets will be reveled to others. You can tell them all the fear that you keep inside as well as those things that stresses you and depresses you. You can tell them absolutely everything. Sometimes it also helps in the healing process to confide to people that you know will be able to understand what you are going through. People that you know will not ridicule you or judge you for what you are going through.
* It would also help in controlling panic attacks if you would assess yourself and then change your attitude towards life.

Panic disorder is a complicated emotional disorder that mimics diverse types of medical disorders and the alarming part is that it can completely copy other disorders that can lead to misdiagnosis. The result of the wrong diagnosis would also result to incorrect application of remedy and this is why most panic disorder patients often take years to cure.

Some of the medical conditions mimic by panic disorder are the following: complex partial seizures, hypoglycemia, heart arrhythmia and hyperventilation syndrome, drug effects, angina, asthma, irritable bowel, colitis, vertigo, mitral valve prolapse, post concussion syndrome, hypertension, postal hypotension and hiatal hernia.

Because of the similarity of the medical conditions mentioned to the symptoms of panic disorder, patients are made to believe that they are suffering from serious illness and usually would sick treatment from various doctors. It usually takes years before patients are correctly diagnosed of having a panic disorder and oftentimes only specialist on panic disorder can identify the real cause.

Just imagine the money and time wasted on purchasing medicines for incorrect diagnoses. Let us not forget that almost all medicines have effect on the body and usually the effect is not good. There are contraindications to various medicines that oftentimes destroy major body glands. And just think what these medicines can do for you in the amount of time you are taking them.

There are about 7.2% or 1 in every 15 adults that is suffering in panic disorder. This statistic is the result of the NIH research on panic disorder in the year 1993 and every year the said number is increasing. It can be therefore assumed that every year about 1/3 of the American adults have at least experience one panic attack and thankfully none of these adults ever had repeated panic attacks.

Panic disorder is actually one of the most common emotional disorders and in fact it is more common than alcohol abuse or depression. It is also one of the most neglected disorders as a proof only about 22% of the total panic disorder patients actually seek help and remedy for their illness.

Panic is a condition that is sometimes triggered by situations like threats or disaster and even abuse experienced from childhood. Worrying too much as well as too much depression also leads to the development of panic disorders. A typical condition of phobia is also developed as an outcome of the panic disorder. Phobia in most cases worsens panic disorder in fact 10% of the patients suffering from phobia ends up becoming housebound and develops a great fear of leaving their homes alone.

There are various consequences when a patient develops phobia and these are as follows:

1. Most patients with phobia become homebound and usually fears leaving their home alone.
2. As an outcome of their phobia most patients also loses their jobs.
3. They also become fearful of other people.
4. They also become extremely paranoid that they perceived everything around them as harmful to them.
5. Some even becomes delusional and tend to stray away from the real world.
6. The worst thing to happen is a patient completely becoming crazy.
7. There are also those that develop violent personalities.
8. Some patients also ends up abusing alcohol while others develop chronic depression since they feel that opportunities especially in terms of finding a job is taken completely away from them.

Lastly, panic disorder is not something to take for granted. It is a serious type of emotional disorder that once neglected can really ruin lives. There are treatments available for this type of disorder.

Panic Disorder is a disorder which is characterized by constant and sudden attacks because of extreme fear and nervousness. The attacks are normally not connected to any particular situation and it usually lasts for ten minutes. The patient who experiences anxiety accompanied with a particular phobia is expected or indicated to a recognized motivation.

Agoraphobia refers to a fear of crowds. It is a fear of not being able to escape or afraid of not being able to ask for help in cases of panic attack.

What are their causes?

The cause of panic disorder is still unidentified, but it is believed that it is related with many physiological factors. It can happen with or without the presence of agoraphobia. However, the phobia develops sixty or seventy percent in most panic disorder cases.

The development of the phobia may include adapted behavior since it reveals a fear of experiencing panic attacks in unsafe places. At times, panic attacks are related with the places where it already happened in the past.

It can happen to children but the average age when it usually occurs is 25 years old. It can also affect adults and elders. According to the recent studies, women are two to three times more prone to panic disorder.

What are the symptoms?

Panic attacks include limited periods of severe symptoms. Some of these are listed below which usually lasts for ten minutes.

* Difficulty in breathing
* Light-headedness or faintness
* Tremors
* Trembling
* Too much perspiration
* Choking
* Abdominal pain and nausea
* Lack of feeling or tingling
* Chest pain
* Chills
* Necrophobia or Fear of dying
* Afraid to become crazy
* Fear of losing control

The symptoms of agoraphobia involve:

* Being worried of being in an area where it is difficult to escape
* Avoiding circumstances or situations which can be stressful
* Being worried of having panic attacks
* Autophobia or afraid to be alone
* Afraid of losing control in a crowded place
* Prefers to be at home for longer periods
* Afraid of being helpless and depending too much on others
* Afraid of being estranged from others

How will you know if a person has this disorder?

A physical exam and a psychological assessment are done to have a diagnosis. Most patients with undiagnosed panic disorder might feel that they are dying. Usually, they immediately proceed to emergency rooms or health centers because of a feeling of having a heart attack.

Diagnosis test are performed based on the symptoms that take place.

How is the disorder being treated?

The main objective of treating is to help the patient function well. The effectiveness of the treatment normally depends in part on how severe is the agoraphobia.

Antidepressants medicines are the believed to be effective treatments for most patients of panic disorder. There are also anti-anxiety medicines which are also helpful and effective as a cure for such disorder.

However, there are behavioral therapies that are suggested which include relaxation methods, pleasant mental imagery and cognitive behavioral therapy. These are done to recover deformed and potentially dangerous interpretations of intense anxiety.

Some patients would choose to have psychological therapy and counseling methods. In this way, it would help understand everything about the disorder and the factors that serve as triggers or defender for them.

As a conclusion, if you are also experiencing panic disorder with agoraphobia, you need not to be afraid. Instead, ask the help of a doctor and tell him or her about your worries.

Remember, the only person who could help you with your illness is yourself so, take care of yourself and do not abuse your body too much.

Did you know that nearly 1 out of 75 people may suffer from panic disorder? But before you carry the weight of similar issues on our shoulders, let this article brief you about this thing called panic disorder.

Panic disorder is an illness that is characterized by continuous scenes of intense, gripping scare associated with heart palpitations, nausea and painful sensations. If a person experiences a minimum of two unanticipated future attacks and alarming worries with regards to having behavioral changes to prevent future attacks. The disorder is caused by mental stress, or worries unresolved issues, psychological vulnerabilities or even a combination of all these three. Research says nearly 10 percent of people that are healthy suffer an isolated panic illness attack each year.

A panic attack usually lasts for a maximum of 10 minutes. The usual panic attacks frequency suggests four attacks occur in four weeks, subsequently followed by one month of frightful expected attacks. Panic disorder normally occurs in the late adolescent period or the early period of adulthood.

Approximately 50% to 60% of people experiencing panic disorder experiences primary depressive disorders that was reported by the United States Surgeon Generals Report last 1999. About 2.4 million or roughly 1.7% of adults in the 18-54 age range suffers from panic disorder annually and 1 out of 3 people experiencing panic disorder evolve to having agoraphobia. An average of 70% of the disorder patients suffer from extra psychiatric and psychological condition. Moreover, approximately 40% of panic disorder patients experience depression as well.

Women are more likely to suffer from panic disorder than men and according to the survey conducted by the National institutes of Mental Health, about 1 in 75 people may suffer from panic disorder and only about 1 in 4 people with the illness gain medical treatment as stated by the National Institutes of Mental Health.

One million Americans suffer from the symptoms of panic disorder and approximately 3 million Americans are expected to experience panic disorder.

Here are some profile points of panic disorder patients:

* Averaging 60% at ages 18 to 34 years old
* The onset of the illness usually at age 24
* The number ration of male patients to female patients is 28 and 72 respectively.
* The number percentage of married patients is 51
* Average percentage of divorced patients is 24
* Approximately 50% of panic disorder patients are no longer able to drive over a 3-mile distance from their homes.
* About 30% of the patients are alcoholics, 17% are drug addicts, 42% take tranquilizers, 83% have declined work quality performance, 67% lost their jobs and 43% are no longer able to work even once for a month.
* Twenty percent (20%) are financially dependent on disability or welfare programs.

The most common used treatment for panic disorder is the drug or behavioral therapy. A combination of the two usually leads to best results. A significant 70% to 90% of panic disorder patients have been treated successfully. The frequently used behavioral treatment technique is the desentization or simply a gradual exposure to several panic situations. Appreciable signs of positive effects of behavioral treatment can be observable within three to six weeks.

About 35% of the patients have stopped drug treatments due to some side effects caused by a quick-working drug known as benzodiazepines. This drug is believed to reduce the symptoms of the illness. However, the drug is proven to have adverse affects. Statistics reports that averages of 28% of panic disorder patients are carried to emergency rooms within a period of six months of using the drug.

If you think you or your loved on is suffering from panic disorder, you should visit your psychiatrist immediately to help you with this problem.

People who suffer from panic attacks are worried about having more attacks. Panic attacks are accompanied by fear or discomfort that last for minutes or in severe cases, for hours. The symptoms of anxiety appear a few hours after the attack. The attack is severe, frightening and incapacitating to the patients who experience it. The panic attack appears almost anytime with no anticipating factors which reaches the peak and will last up to 10 minutes. Usually, patients who experiences panic attacks feels like losing control or going crazy, having a heart attack or dying. It can also attack during sleep which may cause exhaustion.

Panic attacks happen almost anytime or spontaneously. They also appear when exposed to situations that trigger the attack. Panic attack also occurs during the exposure to a feared object, social and specific phobias.

Patients are preoccupied with the experience that they had during the panic attack. The fear of being attacked sometimes triggers the panic attack symptoms to appear. Patients may think that they have problems regarding the cardiac, neurological and gastrointestinal system. They will consult their doctors and will know that panic attack is what their real condition is.

Panic attack sometimes leads to a more severe phobia called agoraphobia. Agoraphobia is the fear of public places. Patients may develop fear to places where the panic attack is triggered, especially to places where help is not available and intervention is impossible. This is why patients with panic disorder usually stays at home and lets other people do their activities outside home.

This is why patients with panic disorder needs to be closely watched. However, there are different effective interventions for patients suffering from panic attacks. Here are the following:

* You should make yourself available around the patient so you can help the patient during panic attack. You will have more knowledge about the patient's discomforts.
* Maintain an environment that is calm and with less stressors.
* Avoid using rude words and avoid shouting. Use languages that are easy to understand and use calm voice when talking to them.
* If the patient is hyperventilating. Provide him or her with a brown bag and focus your attention on the breathing pattern of the patient.
* Allow the patient to release their tension by letting them cry, pace or shout. In this way the patient will be able to express the emotion that is stuck within.
* Talk to the patient about how he or she feels and let him or her know that you are in control of the situation.
* Bring the patient to places where stressors are not present. Avoid touching the patient as it can trigger the attack. Usually, patients suffering from panic disorder do not like being touched as it can increase the feeling of fear and panic.
* Ask the patient about how he or she felt and let him or her express his or her perceptions or the feared objects. Let him or her tell you about what they have in mind.
* Contact the people concerned about the situation.

These are examples of simple yet effective intervention you can do to help a patient with panic disorder. Ask your psychiatrist on how to handle a patient with panic disorders. It is very important to consult your doctor about it. Never feel awkward in asking questions that concerns panic disorder. They are more than willing to answer your concerns. Read and know more about it.

A panic attack is an abrupt rush of an intense fear that happens unexpected and without any warning. It is greater than the feeling of anxiety or the feeling of being stressed out that are commonly experienced by most people. In fact according to some findings at least one out of 75 people is experiencing panic attack at some point in their life.

In America an average of 1/3 of American adults have experience at least one panic attack however the good news is most of these adults have not been able to experience the same attack twice. Panic attack together with anxiety attack are two most common emotional disorders compared to other disorders like schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, alcohol abuse, depression and others. And from among these disorders it is also panic attack and anxiety attack wherein the rates of people seeking for help is at the lowest.

The cases of people experiencing panic and anxiety attacks are increasing everyday. It is very important to become aware of what panic attack is all about. I think the most important thing about panic attacks is in terms of experiencing the horror that goes with panicking. Individuals that have experience this type of disorder can attest to the changes that it caused them not only in the way they perceive things but the impact is more noticeable on their everyday activities.

Another thing that happens to people with panic attack disorder is mostly mental for instance they feel for an overwhelming and almost uncontrollable dread that can be likened to losing one's mind or perceiving oneself as terribly ill or worst thinking of oneself as near dying. Aside from mental, panic attack also have major effects on the body's major functioning glands like the heart, lungs, stomach, pancreas, intestines, kidneys, eyes, bladder and even on some of the largest muscle groups.

You must be wondering why panic attack can cause such dreadful effect on people. You see when someone is experiencing panic attack there is a surge of stimulants and hormones (such as adrenaline, epinephrine, glycogen, cortical, norepinephrine and others) that flood the cells of the body through the bloodstream. That is also the reason why a person having a panic attack would usually run, hide or get out.

And since a panic attack can cause an individual to become delusional he or she will also have the feeling of being trapped afterwards a feeling of helplessness with a combination of an overwhelming feeling of threat will follow. Panic attack can develop in any situation whether as an outcome of a crime or disaster. For someone with this type of disorder it really doesn't matter whether the threat is real or not. What the person just knows is that the fear he or she is feeling is real.

Panic attack may also be cause by too much stress due to worries at home or at work. It may also be caused by having an uptight personality or it may also be the outcome of an abusive experience from childhood. Panic attack disorder may also be inherited. The best way to control panic attack is to stop excessive worrying likewise it would be ideal also to avoid situations that may cause you to panic.

There are actually symptoms and signs that associated with panic attack disorders and these are as follows: stress sensations, rapid heartbeat, chest pain/tightness, tension headaches, light headedness, sweaty palms, fatigue and low energy as well as sleep disturbance. If you are showing any of the signs it would be best to seek help the soonest possible time so that it can still be remedied at its early stage.

There are at least three percent of American people that suffer from panic attack and a great number of them have their first taste of panic attack as early as their twenties. However this doesn't mean that younger than twenty years old are free from panic attack, In fact panic attack disorder was known to affect various age groups so nobody can say that he or she is completely safe from this disorder.

Most panic attack disorder patients claim that it is usually the first attack which they can truly describe as traumatic for them. And usually too much stress or depression brought about by certain situations are the factors that helps trigger first attacks of panic disorder. However, the good news about first attack of panic disorder is the fact that it is not dangerous and does not cause great harm. On the other hand full blown attacks only last for a few minutes and similarly are not that life-threatening.

Although the attacks are not that alarming but still a panic disorder is a scary thing to happen to any individual. Just imagine feeling like you are having a heart attack, you cannot breathe and feel like you are going crazy. These are just some of the nightmares that panic disorder patients have to go through. Others also feel as if something is wrong with their body and this causes them to panic even more.

There are certain indications that show whether a person is experiencing panic attack take for instance uncontrollable sweating as well as fast beating of the heart. Most people that experience this often ends up in the hospital. Panic disorder patients usually calms down after they are told that there is nothing wrong with them and that they are perfectly fine.

Reassuring panic disorder patients is actually one way of controlling the attack. It is also good that panic attacks usually disappear quickly which really put patients mind at peace knowing that the attack is just temporary.

The only problem with experiencing a panic attack is in terms of its effect on the body. The thing is after the body has experience panic attack it will become more sensitive which leads for the body to become overly receptive or too alert which increase the risk of a second panic attack. A continuous attack would soon advance to a condition much known as a panic disorder.

The impacts of the panic attacks to patients usually lessen with the succeeding attacks but are still scary. There are some patients that suffer everyday panic attacks and most of them are unpredictable and are usually triggered by situations that cause the first attack.

Panic Attack Medications

A panic disorder is still curable and certain medications have proven effective in controlling this type of disorder. Most of the medications given to panic disorder patients usually lessen the occurrence of panic attacks. In the past doctors would usually prescribed antidepressants to hinder panic disorder from attacking.

Sample of the antidepressants usually prescribed were Tricyclic Antidepressant which is like Imipramine or Tofranil. Another new type of antidepressant being given to patients is what you call as Serotenorgic Reuptake Inhibitors or SSRIs which are also known for its effectiveness in controlling panic attacks.

The only problem with medication is that it usually takes effect after several weeks which help patients to slowly return to their everyday life. Not all patients cope well with medications some just cannot tolerate the side effects this is also the reason why some patients relapse since they often discontinued taking their medicines.

Those who have suffered from panic attacks all suffer from similar symptoms. Sweaty palms, an overly high heart rate, mental confusion – all, as well as many others, are products of panic attacks. Knowing what these symptoms are, and, more importantly, being able to recognize them is crucial if people are to be properly diagnosed. Moreover, knowing what may be happening can also enable a person to take certain measures so that, if these panic attacks are to occur, they are not exacerbated or made worse by a person's general lack of knowledge.

Perhaps one of the most common and well-known symptoms associated with panic attacks is just that – panic. Panic, or anxiety, is often very intense, and can be triggered by the slightest provocations. For instance, money, family, or work issues, however minor, can all cause an individual suffering from panic attacks to break out into a cold sweat, start to shake or cry, or experience pulsating headaches, to name a few syndromes. Those suffering from the worst that panic attacks have to offer can go as far as secluding themselves from the rest of society, fearing that if they venture into public they may undergo another panic attack and, as a result, be subject to ridicule or torment by their peers.

Another symptom may be someone's continual reliance on alcohol or drugs. Because of the stultifying and depressing powers of alcohol and certain types of drugs, an individual's reliance upon them can signal a deeper problem. Someone whose desire it is to curb or prevent panic attacks may engage in intense alcohol consumption or drug use in order to suppress the feelings and emotions they otherwise do not wish to express. Of course, this can have a very damaging affect on someone's health, but for suffering from panic attacks, this may be preferable to the panic attacks.

A second symptom associated with panic attacks is intense social anxiety, which may express itself in an individual's reluctance to meet and talk to others or to engage in any type of event that requires them to be social. Because people who express this anti-social behavior – which is usually accompanied by other symptoms like stammering, dry mouth, or difficulty with speech – are generally thought to be overly shy or introverted and, as a result, receive little sympathy from their peers, and may, in some cases, even be viewed as mentally ill. This does nothing but contribute to the problem, causing many sufferers to think that their fears of social interaction are justified and that those around them do not care about their mental well-being.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is another common syndrome associated with panic attacks. People suffering from this disorder become so consumed by certain thoughts that they are unable to think of anything but these thoughts, growing obsessed with them until they are highly distressed. Although some argue that everyone is OCD in some way or other, and that it is this compulsive disorder that lies behind ambition and drive, those suffering from extreme OCD usually worry about things that are inconsequential or that they have no control over. For example, some people fret over germs so much that they will take constant showers and will not shake people's hands out of fear of contracting some germ.

Again!

All of a sudden, your world turns into a spin. You find yourself breathing nothing as if air swiftly disappears. You feel too cold yet around you its thirty-six degree Celsius hot. To make the situation worse, you are feeling so afraid yet you cannot exactly determine the very reason of your fear.

Yes, you are in a state of panic attack. Panic attacks can be as short as a single minute but it can extend to very long hours. No one can be very sure when he or she may encounter yet another panic attack but there are ways to prevent it.

If you have been diagnosed of having panic attacks, it is best to be familiar with ways on how to prevent the illness to live a normal, happy life.

To begin with, it is best to educate yourself together with your specialist the signs and symptoms of panic attacks, its causes and its cure. Ignorance of the illness will never give you the satisfaction to live a healthy lifestyle.

Yes, a healthy lifestyle, if you think you have lived a destitute way of living before your panic attacks it is best to make a decision to start managing a healthy lifestyle. Others would look into the way they can keep their bodies fit. Some people begin by assessing the foods they eat. They also try to learn the proper ways to prepare their foods.

Additionally, it is best to avoid food or fluid triggers. Chocolate is one example of a food trigger since it contains caffeine. Other examples of fluid triggers are your coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Caffeine as we all know is a very dominant stimulant of our nervous system. Excessive intake of food or fluids with caffeine can cause anxiety and other psychological and physical exhaustion.

Along with food or fluid trigger avoidance, it is worthy for you to keep away from alcohol and drugs. Some find alcohol and drugs to loosen them up but it is just temporary relief they are feeling. If continuously taken, it will result to more bothersome situations, anxiety may be greater.

Another way to reduce panic attacks is learning to manage one's anxiety. Learn to have power over your worries. Focus on what is happening at this very moment, at this very day. Let go of future goings-on. Take every event in your life one-step at a time.

Therefore, you have to let go of your worries. Now, aim to identify different approaches to relax and get plenty of exercises. Some enrol in yoga. Others would learn to relax their muscles or perform breathing exercises. Being able to relax and exercise rejuvenates people's mind, emotions and sometimes their soul.

Individuals who suffer from recurrent panic attacks should get enough amount of sleep along with getting ample amount of relaxation and exercise. Set your body clock. If you are feeling good after getting less or more than eight hours of sleep, establish the routine. Obtaining less or more than your regular sleeping habits can lead to your disturbance.

Most importantly, to complete the process of managing one's anxiety, confrontation of events in your past that made you apprehensive is pleasant. Learn to overcome hesitancy and fear. Try to evaluate probable things in your past that you have done that have triggered panic attacks. Afterwards, learn from it.

It will be advisable to consult a trusted counsellor to confide in your fears and other unconstructive thoughts. A counsellor can attend to your needs in preventing panic attacks if you have fully disclosed yourself and your illness.

Next to a counsellor, you should continuously visit your doctor. By doing so, you will be able to exactly know the degree of your treatment.

Panic attack. It may happen again. Nevertheless, you are equipped, ever ready to get over it.

Panic attack is among one of the common disorders present today. America has many recorded cases of it. Women in most cases are the one who suffers from it compared to men. They thought that hormones have something to do with panic attacks. But what is a panic disorder and how is it related to the hormones?

Panic attack is manifested by increased heart rate palpitations and chest pain. A patient with panic disorders may experience chills, hot flushes, trembling, sweating, light headedness and dizziness. Sometimes, a patient may also feel nausea, vomiting and abdominal distress. In severe cases, patients may feel difficulty in breathing, choking, smothering and shortness of breath. Numbness and tingling sensations may also be felt. During the panic attack, a patient may experience the feeling of losing control or going crazy and in some cases they feel like dying. Derealization and personalization is sometimes noted.

An attack may last for minutes to hours. Usually, the attack is triggered by some stressors like for example, a patient may develop agoraphobia where panic attack occurs in places they fear.

There are obviously many causes of panic attacks. Usually, panic attacks are triggered by stressor such as public places, feared object and unsecured feeling. Physical illness can also trigger panic attack. For example, if a patient has undergone surgery such as hysterectomy or surgically induced menopause they can develop panic disorder.

A patient who undergoes hormone replacement therapy can help treat menopause. However, it will not do anything to relieve panic attacks. Many women who have undergone same situation knows about the effect of hormone replacement therapy does not help in curing panic attack. Hormone replacement is not helpful in curing panic attacks.

However, women with panic disorder often experience attack weeks before their menstrual period. Anxiety may develop which aggravates the Pre Menstrual Period. Pills and other Hormonal medications do not help in treating the panic attack. There are many studies about hormones connected to panic attacks but scientists are indefinite about it.

Women with panic disorder taking estrogen regularly at a very low dose will not treat her problem. Women usually have this bizarre idea that taking hormones such as estrogen can treat their panic disorder. This is the most common concern of all the women every time they visit their psychiatrist for consultation. Many have misconceptions about the hormone supplement they are taking.

However, visiting a psychiatrist can be of great help. Particularly, visiting an Anxiety Disorder Cognitive Behavioral Therapist can be a great help in treating the underlying panic disorder. CBT is also a very effective treatment for panic disorder that has been known all over the world because of its effective results. Some hospitals and psychiatric units offer this service for free. You will only have to search for the one that offers it without any fees.

If you want to know more about panic disorder, visit your psychiatrist and ask him or her about your concern about panic disorders. They are much willing to answer all your questions to help you know more about the mental disorder. You can also read books and magazine to give you more knowledge about it. The Internet can also be a great help for you, it has websites that are related to panic disorder and explains the condition. Search engines are free so you can obtain information about panic attacks anytime you want.

A person once said, "Nothing in this world is constant because day by day everything changes." This could be an archaic statement for most of you but its essence is always still there.

Experiencing panic attack for several years may be too much. You bring more than suffering to yourself for quite a long time. Maybe it is high time to let go of the entire burden caused by panic disorder in your life.

Panic attack is usually disregarded by many people. In the first place, they are aware that they have that kind of disorder but they tend to ignore it to the point that it gets worse. This is the only time that you will be going to do something about it.

Most of the people will say that the best way to get rid of panic attack is to relax yourself and feel the soothing experience of being fed up with everything that can give you comfort. They would often state these words "Just relax and take it easy". This usually happens when you are at work and you are being pressured with all the meetings and the paperwork that you need to accomplish. Wait, don't you think that it is really easier said than done? Unless you are in one's feet you will not experience the pressure brought to you by your boss.

There are times that you are already lying in your bed and suddenly your phone rang hearing your boss's voice. "I need the papers in my desk at exactly seven in the morning!" Then you freak out.

If you do experience the same situation over and over again, you should expect a worse condition of your health. You will certainly suffer from panic attack. Often, you can develop a level of fear of being helpless and you do not know what to do.

Relaxation is necessary. This is because, it simply refers to a process of causing or allowing you to become loose or limp. It involves a vital part of your body, which is the muscle. It is the tensing of your muscles that makes you prepare and get ready for your tasks.

The process of relaxation is often associated with certain therapies such as yoga and reiki. However, if you will refer to the exact definition of relaxation, it is defined as a form of amusement and recreation in order to diminish tension. In other words, it is your prerogative to choose the most comfortable ways for you to make your relaxation possible. It all depends up to you on what kind relaxation is suitable for you.

When you relax, you let yourself free from all types of stressful activities. You leave all the hassles and the worries behind you. You view every aspect that comes into your life in a positive sense, you also develop the idea that in spite of the odds there is a always a brighter day that awaits you.

You can dance with a groove, sing with your most favorite song, paint your emotions, eat your most desired foods or anything that can release your stress. Do what you think can make you happy.

The secret is to let go of all the negative things in your mind and follow what your heart desires. This is the best way to relax yourself and relieve the stress that you feel so that you will prevent yourself from having panic attacks.

Sarah feels pity with her best friend every time they are having their P.E. class. Her friend just sits in one corner staring at them. This is because she cannot participate in the strenuous activities that the P.E. class requires. She has a panic disorder. What is the connection of having panic disorder to her participation to exhausting activities? Try to know more about it as the story continues,

Panic disorder is distinguished by repeated episodes of intense fear. It is accompanied with symptoms like chest pain, increase of heart palpitations, grasping for breath and abdominal distress. A person suffering from panic attack should not be exposed with too much gladness or misery.

Moreover, signs that are manifested by panic attack often imitate the symptoms cause by heart failures and heart attack. This is the reason why some doctors frequently find it difficult to determine whether a person already has panic attack or a heart failure. They find it difficult in providing the proper diagnosis.

A person with panic attack develops phobia with several factors. Mostly, he encounters fear in crowded places such as in shopping malls and supermarkets, the person may think that there is no way for help to come.

Below are some of the facts that you should be able to know about panic attack.

1. Panic attacks frequently occur with people aging from 18 to 54. This is the stage when people are mostly prone to suffer from panic attack and majority of the patients that are sent to the hospital every year are in this age bracket.

2. Women are more prone to panic disorder than men. Men are stronger in character and they tend to appear courageous enough on fearful things.

3. Heredity is considered as a very tough factor of panic disorder. It runs in the genes as they say like in high blood pressure cases. Moreover, other factors that contribute to the development of this disorder are the stressful events in your everyday life and other biological influences.

4. The fear response causing panic disorder is also caused because of the small structure that can be found inside the brain of a person; this very complicated structure is called amygdala.

5. There are available treatments for panic disorder. One is the medication and the other is a form of psychotherapy that will aid a person with panic attack to view his fears in a positive outlook and later on, overcome it.

6. People who are undertaking the therapy can experience some sudden changes on his or her behavior and you will gradually notice its effect as the therapy goes on.

7. People with panic disorder have the great possibility of encountering other illnesses. Thus, the panic disorder can coexist with other diseases such as an intense depression.

8. Vices such as alcoholism and drug abuse especially the use of marijuana and other depressant drugs also contribute as great factors in the development of panic disorder.

Panic disorder can harm the lives of individuals. It is very important to have a proper diagnosis regarding the presence of indicators of panic attack to avoid repetitive attacks. It can also ruin the lifestyle of a person even on the manner on how he socializes with other people.

Panic attack is indeed a problem to be solved by patients tormented with the said disorder to live a happy and have a normal way of living.

Anxiety panic attack is manifested by the following physical symptoms: stress sensations, rapid heartbeat, chest pain/tightness, tension headaches, light headedness, sweaty palms, fatigue, low energy and sleep disturbance. Aside from the physical, patients also meet problems especially when it comes to socializing with others since they get to display shyness, introversion, nervousness, self-consciousness, fear of embarrassment, fear of public speaking, recollecting mistakes and they tend to become hypersensitive.

And since anxiety panic disorder is an emotional disorder we can expect that patients will develop an awful view of life that will reflect on their though patterns. Usually patients with anxiety panic disorder will have frequent worries, will always fear the worst of things to happen and there are also cases wherein a patient will think that he or she is going crazy.

Such type of thought if not given attention will likely cause slight paranoia and would develop a feeling of uncertainty. There are also times that a patient also becomes to analytical and would tend to over analyze things which usually results to fearing for worst things to happen. This usually leads to depression, anxiety, stress and then finally a panic attack.

Anxiety panic attacks are really scary especially if you happen to experience it in a situation that may put your life at risk like for instance while you are speeding away on the highway. This is definitely a life threatening situation since the possibility of you meeting an accident is there. In situations like this it would be best to pull over to the side of the road and get out of your car to get some air. Practice breathing. Inhale and then hold your breath for two second before breathing out. Repeat this until you finally feel calm and relax.

Anxiety panic disorder is one of the common mental disorders that are currently experience in the world today. However in US alone about 19.1 million or 13.3% of the adult population whose age ranges from 18 to 54 are suffering from this condition. Anxiety disorder can really increase depression which leads to serious attacks.

There are of course effective treatments that can prevent anxiety attacks from occurring frequently. Treatments range from medications to therapies which are proven very effective in helping patients with anxiety panic disorders. These treatments help these patients to live a normal life that is free from recurring anxiety attacks.

Proper treatment together with better understanding of what anxiety panic disorder is all about can increase the chances of a patient to recover fast. Likewise new technologies are continuously being developed in order to know better the biological, psychological as well as the social factors that contribute to the development of anxiety disorder. This of course will lead to better treatments and better ways of controlling anxiety attacks.

Factors That Contribute To Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety disorder has been traced to be hereditary. There have been evidences showing that heredity is in fact a great factor in the development of anxiety. It has been believed that there are some genetic factors that might have been activated by an experience or a situation that evokes great amount of feeling such as fear, depression, stress which leads to anxiety.

Another factor that has been discovered to cause anxiety disorder is brain chemistry. This has been found out after it has been observed that medications given to patients suffering from anxiety disorder tend to alter the levels of chemicals in the brain which results to controlling the attack.

The type of personality that a person has also contributes to the development of anxiety disorder. Most of the people that have been observed to suffer anxiety attacks are those that have very uptight personality or those with can't-take-a-joke type of personality.

Life experiences also increases the possibility of anxiety attacks. Experiences such abuse, violence and even poverty can cause the development of anxiety disorder. Likewise, medicines like amphetamines, Ecstasy or LSD can trigger anxiety panic attacks.

More and more research has been done comparing men and women when it comes to panic attacks, and one conclusion that has come from this research is that women, more than men, are disposed to panic attacks. In fact, studies have shown that for a man that has a panic attack, three women will have a panic attack. There are several reason for this that researchers have hypothesized, but two of the most common concern the pressure that is placed on women by society as well the freedom and ability for women to express themselves without any societal repercussions.

Women are constantly bombarded with images depicting other women who are exceptionally beautiful. As a result, many women will try to compete with these glorified images, which can be especially difficult, not the least because many of these images are enhanced in such a way as to make those in the images appear even prettier than they really are. Put differently, the women in the images do not even look as good as they are presented so trying to match that level of beauty is just near impossible for anyone. Trying to keep up that level of beauty, however, may lead a woman to excessive exercise, extreme dietary regulations, or other drastic measures, all of which will prove futile. When a woman realizes that she will never look as good as the image that she idolizes, instead of admiring her own beauty instead, she may fall into a fit of depression, may retreat from the comfort of others, or may even adopt a "stop at no cause" mentality and rev up her exercise and dietary measures. This, as is well known, can lead to a lot of stress, amongst other problems, which can directly cause a panic attack to arise. Finally, although men are bombarded in much the same way as women, there is not that societal pressure placed on a man that dictates he must look a certain way or no one will find him attractive.

A second reason women are more prone to panic attacks, as well as panic attacks of a greater intensity, involves their ability to express themselves more than men are. Take, for example, crying. In American society, it is all right for a woman to cry, whereas when men do the same thing, they are often ridiculed and regarded as weak or cowardly. For women, in short, showing signs of emotion can be done without any backlash. Consequently, because women are able to show this emotion, they are putting themselves in a position where they may lose control of their emotions, thereby incurring a greater chance of having a panic attack.

It is interesting to note, moreover, that although women may experience more panic attacks, men generally have ones of greater intensity. This may be because men are unable to express their emotions and therefore have to bottle them up inside. When these emotions are released, they come more fully and in greater force, thereby leading to a more intense panic attack.

The gripping effects of bipolarity, which causes an imbalance of mental and emotional stability, can grow even worse when plagued by all the problems of acute anxiety. Much research has gone into the connection between panic acute anxiety, spurred on by such diseases as bipolarity, and panic attacks, which are generally thought to be the product of extreme anxiety, although no conclusive results have been established suggesting that there is a common underlying biological dysfunction. Whatever the case, the result is the same: an overwhelming sense of fear that can cause an otherwise perfectly healthy individual to shun society and the world around them. In a word, someone suffering from bipolarity and panic attacks can become virtually incapacitated, not only unable to function in the world, but, worse yet, trapped in the confines of an ever-destructive disease.

Many people who suffer from bipolarity have reported usual amounts of anxiety, leading them to experience syndromes similar to that which someone having a panic attack might feel. For example, these people have all described feeling, at times, an overwhelming sense of depression, confusion, obsession, compulsion, sleep disorders, and other behaviors typically not associated with those of steady mental health.

Many, furthermore, are dependent on drugs in order to keep these problems in check, but many of these same sufferers also state that these drugs gradually lose their potency and, after a while, cease being effective. Because of this, many doctors change up the medications that they proscribe in order to make sure that a person's mind and body do not get acclimated to this drug. Doing this enables them to keep one step ahead of the disease and not, as it used to be, let the disease overtake the individual. Of course, changing up an individual's medications can have a lot of side effects, including, although not limited to, increased depression and, in the worse case scenario, suicide. But, doctors argue, this is very rare, and the overwhelming amount of people who suffer from bipolarity and the panic attacks that are triggered are able to leave normal lives.

Still, there is a sliver of people who never recover, regardless of the drugs that are administered to them. Unsure of why this is, doctors routinely subject these people to various tests, hoping to understand why they are immune to remedies that have otherwise proven successful on many others. One possible reason that has been bantered around the scientific community deals with the fact that these people are not really bipolar at all, but instead have some other disease that is replicating symptoms generally associated with bipolarity. Of these symptoms, many occur that are similar to symptoms displayed during panic attacks; the only difference, but a fundamental difference, deals with the lack of mental equilibrium that is more consistently and more persistently shown.

People suffering from panic attacks generally do not display long periods of mental imbalance, though people with bipolarity do. As a result of this confusion, there remain a number of people who still suffer on a daily basis and who may never be cured. In the end, however, understanding bipolarity, as well as its symptoms, can help understand extreme anxiety, which, in turn, can help understand panic attacks. Doctors have found a link between the three. The hard part is trying to disrupt the link so that people no longer have to suffer.

Panic disorder has been destructive to a lot of people. Everyday, more and more patients are complaining with the said disorder. However, there are still a number of individuals who continue to hide it within themselves.

This type of disorder is more than a feeling of being stressed out as experienced by most of the people who are inclined in working. This is a sudden attack of irresistible fear that cannot be explained by anybody. Once you have this panic disorder you began to undergo an intense feeling of fright as if nobody is willing to help you.

Panic attack also occurs without prior signs and even without warning. Oftentimes, with no reason at all, a person just feels this. The worse thing is that panic attacks are closely associated with several forms of phobias and anxiety disorder such as depression.

If you want to check whether you are already experiencing panic attack, you can check on the following symptoms:

* The heartbeat is beyond normal. The palpitation also continues to increase every second without you noticing it.

* A person is grasping for breath as if one cannot get enough air for breathing.

* There is an intense feeling of nervousness until you are already quivering.

* You experience a frightening feeling that seems to be paralyzing.

* Nausea and dizziness coupled with severe perspiration as if it will not stop anymore.

* You will experience chest pain while you always feel as if something is blocking your throat.

* One develops a fear and starts becoming crazy because of thinking that he or she is about to die.

One factor that brings difficulty to the doctors in identifying if a person has panic attack is when its symptoms is coexisting with other condition. This especially happens to people with particular index disease. This is where Comorbidity enters. It is considered being an association between two distinct disorders that is more than just being coincidental.

Thus, one instance of a comorbid condition is an existing disease that can cause another complication to a person such as the hypertension that can frequently lead to stroke. Another is head trauma that can risk the life of a person from suffering epileptic attacks. This is how worse Comorbidity is.

Panic attack is another evident case of Comorbidity because it can lead to self injury of a person. As you look at the common symptoms of panic attack, it occurs even without reason and with no prior signs that he will be hit by panic attack. Self injury is actually one of the most threatening incidences that a person can encounter during his or her attack. He tends to loose consciousness and if nobody will notice a person having panic attack, he can experience severe self injury.

Moreover, Comorbidity can complicate any findings by a doctor. This can be due to overlapping symptoms that can occur between two different diseases. It is very important for the doctors to find out the potential coexisting comorbid conditions to make sure that they can arrive at a credible diagnosis.

Therefore, if you already found out that there are mitigating symptoms existing in your system that can lead to panic attack, make sure to consult your doctor immediately before your situation gets worse.

Nearly one-third of Americans, or more than one hundred million people living in the United States, has suffered from a panic attack sometime or other during their life. There are many reasons why this may be so, researchers are still trying to sort out answers to this question, but among people who are chronic sufferers, there appears to be several commonalities.

Most of those who are chronic sufferers have jobs that are either very physically or mentally challenging, leading to a great deal of stress. When stress levels are high, and one does not have the ability to simply pull away from the situation and relax, the body often times goes into overdrive, a condition that, if occurring to often, can lead an individual to overheat, much like a car would do. In an individual, however, this overheating takes its form in a panic attack. The heart will being to race, palms will grow sweaty, and a general feeling of gloom will preside, forcing the individual to step back from whatever he or she was doing, take a breather, and relax. For this reason, it is also important that a highly stressed individual occasionally take some time off. Without any time off, there is never any down time and, just the opposite, a person is continually on the go, which can have adverse side effects and could potentially trigger a panic attack.

Aside from these jobs, there are also several personality traits that doctors believe can contribute to a person experiencing a panic attack. People who are extremely analytical, are obsessive, emotionally sensitive, or need to be in control at all times are also more likely to experience a panic attack than their counterparts who are not like this. The primary reason people with these personality traits are more likely to experience a panic attack is because these people are likely to focus all of their attention on a single issue; and when this issue is no longer under their control, they are likely to freak out, thereby resulting in a panic attack. There is, in other words, either an obsessive or compulsive aspect to all of these personality traits and it is these qualities that are most prone to trigger a panic attack. Although it may be hard to alter one's personality, there are a number of preventative ways to do so, whether they are natural or proscribed by a doctor.

Those with irrational phobias, such as fear of heights, spiders, or other mundane aspects of life, moreover, are also more prone to panic attacks. Someone who is overly afraid of spiders, for example, may tremble, sweat, and have trouble breathing whenever he or she sees a spider, which, as is well known, are all too common. These phobias stem from some negative previous encounter with the object of fear and, as a result, are usually difficult to overcome unless one seeks some sort of medical treatment, like seeing a psychologist. Without the help of some medical profession, the chances one will be able to overcome a phobia, and thereby curtail panic attacks, is very slim.

Although medicines do treat illnesses, however, don't you know that it can even cause another illness as part of its complication or side effects? It sounds ironic but it is true. You do not know the logic behind it but most medically inclined people do.

Levaquin for instance is supposed to treat different bacterial infections. It belongs to a group of antibiotic that is often prescribed by doctors as treatment for infectious diseases cause by bacteria. This medicine is available in both tablet and injection. Its effectiveness is also approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

However, like any other types of medications it also has corresponding side effect to people, particularly if not taken properly. Aside from causing abdominal pain, it can also result to nausea, headache, and slight change on the taste buds and in worst cases it can result in intense anxiety disorder like panic attack and insomnia.

Usually, if it is combined with other therapies and medications, it also leads to greater complications and side effects. Patients should always be aware about this medicine. This is because it can cause many side effect on your digestive and nervous systems.

Sometimes, side effects of Levaquin are cause by failure to follow the prescription of doctors. Typically, a patient will be required to take each dose of Levaquin with 8 ounces of water. If you fail to do so, it can cause the formation of Levaquin crystals that can affect your body systems.

Supposedly, a patient should first tell the doctor regarding his or her health background. This is because there are limitations set for people with unstable health condition. It is not advisable for persons with slow heart rate and anxiety attacks. If you need this kind of medicine the doctor will either prescribe you with a dosage adjustment or with other medicines.

If you overdose with Levaquin it can increase the possibility of being affected with panic attacks. There is a certain ingredient in this medicine that develops anxiety in your system. You become more nervous and your heart palpitation also increases. In the long run, you will notice that while your bacterial infection is cured, your panic disorder worsens.

It is also not desirable if you will miss a dose of Levaquin. This is because it can reduce the effectiveness of the medicine. It will not cure the bacterial infections that attack your body but it will increase the immunity of the bacteria to the medicine. Therefore, it is better if you only follow the doctor's prescription.

If in case you experience one of the mentioned side effects upon taking Levaquin, seek for the doctor's advice immediately. Panic attack disorder can also be paired with several related symptoms of anxiety.

Testimonies coming from the patients who have become a victim of panic attack due to the side effects of Levaquin have also increased. This made the Food and Drug Administration alarmed.

Levaquin can also result to numbness and tingling in your ears especially f you are taking it for more than a month. After this, people can experience panic attack with no reason at all.

If this happens to you, you should immediately consult your nearest doctor. Always remember that there is no need for you to worry about bacterial infection because the doctor can prescribe you an alternative dosage of medicine for your problem.

Almost all panic disorder articles were frequently published in some psychiatric and psychological journals. There are approximately 365 articles concerning panic disorder in existing psychiatric journals. From the year 1996 to 2001, however, only a single article has been published regarding panic disorder.

Within those years, 21 out of 29 submitted journals have responded. Ten of these journals recorded information about disorders and 11 remaining have not. The acceptance rate was normally and considerably low for disorder-related articles. Four journals have published none about panic disorder as well as anorexia nervosa. Three psychiatric journals receive no panic disorder article and 5 or less anorexia nervosa articles. One journal published an article about panic disorder and no anorexia nervosa article. One journal, however, was the single exception, the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology. The journal has accepted 45 out of 6o submitted panic disorder articles and accepted three out of 5 submitted anorexia nervosa articles.

A survey was conducted among top journals and suggested that within the year 1996 to 2001, roughly twice as much articles were published concerning panic disorder compared to anorexia or bulimia nervosa, apart from the burden differences between the two illnesses. The journals include to psychopharmacology journals. Drug therapy or drug treatment is recently not being used in the anorexia nervosa treatments and so the similar facts of anorexia nervosa articles being filed to certain journals like these was considerably low. Nonetheless, though these two journals were considered an exemption, the usual 2 is to 1 ratio comparison between these two kinds (anxiety and eating disorders) of articles printed in top-notch journals.

Considering the information regarding filed to published articles' ratios about the two kinds of disorders, two essential possibilities required to be regarded in attempting to discuss this issue. One feasible instance is that the ratio of filed to accepted articles about the two disorders is closely related. However, more anxiety disorder articles are being filed to leading journals. This situation can be the outcome of fewer researches being made regarding eating disorders compared to anxiety ones. This is probably caused by the limited funding available.

Researchers on panic disorders may hope that their opportunities of acquiring heir articles printed in best journals are less and thus, they will not be submitting their written articles to certain journals. There are numerous specialists on panic disorder journals and the reality of its is that the chances for filing articles to special journals are likely comparable with the two kinds of disorder.

The next possibility suggests the quantity of articles filed for the two classes of disorders is the same. However, a higher ratio of anorexia nervosa articles is not considered. This can be a result since the anorexia nervosa articles are usually of less quantity and that anorexia nervosa disorder is of much lesser vitality. The result may suggest biases against researchers into anorexia nervosa disorder among few top psychiatric journals. This can indicate the editors and pessimistic attitudes about these disorders that are considered as the heart of psychiatry.

To wrap things up, the query of whether leading journals are inclines against researchers of panic disorder may not be effectively answered by their studies, however, require extra attention. It is recommended that all journals take not of the ratio of accepted and printed articles about specific topics to prevent discrimination opposite certain disorders.

There are many issues that arise when one considers treating children who are experiencing panic attacks with prescription drugs. For instance, many parents are hesitant to administer drugs that might affect a children's brain because they are unsure of what the long-term side effects may be. However, if non-medical intervention has proven to be unsuccessful, and children are still having panic attacks, it may be time for more drastic measures.

Treating children with drugs in order to curtail panic attacks should never be the first measure a parent takes, although it should certainly not be ruled out. In this way, it is similar to diabetes. After diabetes in a child is diagnosed and it is ruled that the diabetes is not severe, a doctor will recommend some sort of dietary regulations; on the other hand, if the diabetes are considered severe, a doctor will have to enlist a different approach, which may involve some sort of medical treatment. There is, in other words, a gradual process to the treatment of diabetes in children – as there is to panic attacks – starting with minor changes and then employing greater ones if necessary. In some cases, however, when the panic attacks are exceptionally severe, it may be necessary to start a child off on drugs immediately.

With drugs – including, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, Zoloft, and Luvox, to name a few – a child suffering from attacks will be able to deal with many situations he or she may not have been able to deal with before the onset of the drugs. These drugs help increase serotonin in the brain, which is responsible for such things regulate mood, control aggression, hamper sleep problems, and curb various compulsions, thereby eliminating panic attacks, raising a child's level of enthusiasm, lowering depression levels, and, in short, allowing a child to live out the remainder of his or her youth happier. It is important to note, however, that these drugs, like all drugs, have side effects, ranging from upset stomachs to diarrhea to things such as destructive behavior and possibly even suicidal tendencies. In most cases, these problems occur during the first few months of usage, then wane, although it should be noted that any drug used to cure panic attacks should be administered in low dosages lest any problems become worse.

Not everyone responds the same to a medicine and in some instances these medications have shown to be unsuccessful. When it is clear that the drug is not working, it should be discontinued, at which point either another medicine should be tried out or medical treatments should be stopped altogether. Failure to stop a medical treatment that has proven to be ineffective can have a drastic effect on a child, and may even leave the child with permanent problems in the future. Therefore, it is crucial to closely monitor how a child is reacting and if a child is benefiting from various drugs. For the majority of children suffering from panic attacks, drugs have the desired effect, stopping the attacks, and for this reason they remain a popular choice for many parents with children who are suffering with this problem.

Panic attack is always associated with anxiety and getting anxious for quite sometime is a normal tendency for some people. However, if the situation is getting persistent and anxiety has been repetitive, it is something that needs urgent attention.

The degree of anxiety a person experience and its impact will determine if it already reaches to its problematic level that refers to the development of panic disorder. It can lead to a lifetime risk on the life of a person.

If panic attack gets worse, it will eventually affect the way of thinking of an individual, including his decision making-ability. He tends to develop fear that is hard to explain. His perception towards his surroundings is mostly negative.

Common symptoms for panic attacks are increasing blood pressure, irregular palpitation of heartbeat, nausea, abdominal disorder and other related symptoms. Sometimes, when there is already a continuous panic attack the person can also experience grasping for breath.

Panic disorder or panic attack is a classification of anxiety. This is a feeling of an extreme discomfort in a particular place or situation. A person also feels as if nobody will rescue him in times of trouble, thus, he becomes helpless.

Agoraphobia is one of the intense manifestations of panic attack. This is the fear of being alone in a place where help is not available or escape can be difficult. This usually happens in places such as supermarkets, despite of a lot of people surrounding you, a person feels so helpless.

Is it still possible for a person with panic attack to cope up with the said kind of disorder? Yes, as of now several agencies and clinics offers their services for people who are suffering from panic disorder.

Berkshire Stress Management and Clinical Hypnotherapy Service is one of many institutions that treats panic attacks. They have the most credible doctors who have experty on anxiety disorders and other related illnesses. They have tested services for thousands of patients in different parts of the world.

Berkshire Stress Management deals on people with panic disorders. They specialize in hypnotherapy. Aside from panic attack, they also help the patients with psychological and physiological problems.

Hypnosis is one of the oldest forms of healing techniques, most are successful and there are very least cases of unsuccessful therapies. Many people with panic disorder seek for the help of Berkshire because the healing technique is proven effective without your life at stake. There are no hazardous side effects as well.

Hypnotherapy is done in all the designated clinics of the Berkshire and with the help of the therapists, they work together to help the client overcome the problem. It facilitates the unconscious part of your mind in regaining its control and put it into its normal function.

Panic attack reduces the self esteem of an individual because of his or her fear of the things around him or her. It can also weaken his or her personality that can result to an abnormal way of living. Berkshire also provides the proper diagnosis about the real status of a person having such disorder.

Berkshire also requires full cooperation from the patients for better results of the therapy. Sometimes, it contributes a factor that the therapy seems ineffective for other patients. This is because some patients do not cooperate in the therapy. Therefore, it should be stressed that there should be a collaborative effort between the patient and the therapist.

When sudden fear dominates your whole being, when you may find trouble in breathing, if you think that you are going crazy, or there are tickling sensations in your hands and feet, then you may be experiencing a panic attack.

Panic disorder is a circumstance wherein any individual suffering from the said illness can experience unpredicted panic attacks that normally lasts a couple of minutes or it can go beyond a couple of hours.

Nowadays, people should not worry too much of having panic disorders because if properly and prematurely diagnosed and treated, the said disorder can be relieved.

It is best to see your doctor first. Some individuals think that seeing a panic disorder specialist, psychologist or psychiatrist is a source of shame. It should not be. The more you hide the problem, the more it will be a struggle to get out of. Hence, the sooner your consultation will be to your doctor, the better.

People with panic disorder can schedule treatments with pharmacotherapy, cognitive and cognitive-behavioural therapies or combinations of treatment.

Pharmacotherapy involves remedy of panic disorder by using medicines or drugs. Good thing regarding this approach is that it uses homogeneous and uncontaminated doses of drug ensuring its safety and reliability.

Cognitive therapy, on the other hand deals with a goal to overcome negative information absorbed, unworkable ambitions, and severely crucial self-assessment of individuals suffering from panic disorders. Cognitive therapy helps the patient realize the difference between major complicated dilemmas over an easy one. The therapists for this treatment, opens a positive outlook to life.

Let us move on to another form of treatment, the cognitive-behavioural therapy. The basic idea of this therapy is that cognition, feelings, and our actions act together to come up with a certain reaction to life's different situations. This therapy involves both the thinking and behavioural process. Individuals who undergo this treatment experience focus group discussions enabling them to become conscious that they are not alone with the panic disorder battle.

Then you have your consultations. Your specialist may give you remedy that will best suit your condition. They will have to consider different aspects in your lifestyle before they give you proper medications.

Yes, some may need to take medications. Most therapists recommend antidepressants for individuals suffering from severe panic disorder to help them get through the day. Consequently, therapists and patients must work together since some of the antidepressants have side effects implications. Thus, if medications are improperly used it may lead to the patients destruction instead of his wellness.

We have covered the medical aspect of treating panic disorder. There are also alternative ways to treat the said disorder if diagnosed in its early stages.

It is believe that the most efficient way to overcome the said illness is to practice good health care. Have a well-prepared meal plan that will not disturb your eating habits. Additionally, hitting the gym will do you good. Other form of exercises can also be helpful. Of course, do not miss your breathing exercises. It helps boost efficiency that can restrain panic attacks.

While practicing good health care helps, another way to alleviate panic attacks is to have "presence of mind." It entails you not to worry of anything but the present situation. Moreover, it requires you to be alert of what is happening at the current time instead of minding of the past as well as distressing yourself of the future.

Being around with supportive family and friends who can deeply understand the situation and are willing to extend help are also a very good way to prevent panic disorders.

These and more are important ways to combat panic disorder. There is no permanent treatment for panic disorder as its root cause varies. To help cure the illness one can use combinations of treatment as well as try the alternatives.

There is always a better solution to everything; we just have to be keen in discovering them.

Panic attacks can really make you go crazy. However, if you really want to stop it, there are easy panic management methods which you can use to avoid having future attacks.

It is important that you understand first what panic attack is and what is behind them that keep on bothering many people. It is not surprising why most people experience troubles while on the road or in any other stress inductive place.

The main factor of a panic attack is the thought. Like for instance, most panic disorder patients ask "What if I go the wrong way? Will I lose control?" while on the road. These questions become more deadly than hitting a truck or driving your car towards a cement wall.

So, what will you do to stop panic attack from occurring over and over again? The answer is, it would only take three minutes of your precious time to do the methods. If you are able to stop panic attack immediately before it starts, the reaction of your adrenaline will only last for three minutes.

Stopping a panic attack is just a simple task. What you should do is to stop sending emergency messages to your adrenaline glands. You can learn this by following the four easy steps below and your panic attack will only last for minutes or better yet, prevent it from happening. At the time, you will already have an understanding on how it works; you will surely never experience a panic attack again.

The Four Steps are:

1. Relax

You can do this by breathing slowly, deeply and completely. Calm yourself by thinking that panic attacks will not cause you any serious problems. Then, continue breathing slowly, deeply and completely. This will help relax your body.

2. Pessimistic, never!

Tell yourself to STOP when you are starting to think negatively. By doing it, you are disrupting the emergency messages which are about to be sent to your adrenaline glands. Usually, people who experience constant panic attacks are the ones who are fond of thinking negative about themselves. By stopping this, you are also stopping your chances of another attack.

3. Use positive statements

Positive statements will encourage you to stop what you have been scared of most of the time. Change your negative thinking with the positive ones. In addition, choose a statement that speaks about your negative thought.

Some of these positive statements are: "I do not have to worry anymore, I am fine! Or I am through with my burden so, if it happens to me again I am sure I will be able to resolve it."

Make a list of positive statements which you can use as your encourager every time you feel so down and when you think help is unavailable.

4. Accept what you feel

It is very important to accept what you feel. You can begin by knowing what kind of emotion you are feeling. You should know that most panic attacks are caused by emotions such as the feeling of fear. Know your emotions and know the reasons why you feel it.

Many panic disorder patients have stopped having attacks because they have learned these four steps. But, there is a deeper answer to permanently stop panic attacks and finally offering you freedom and happiness.

Your mind has the power to influence all your negative thoughts so, if possible avoid them. Instead, think of positive and beautiful thoughts. In this way, you are able to attain your objective and have a solution to our problem.

On top of all, you already can become the kind of person you want to be, positive, care-free and productive.
