Baldness is not usual hair loss. It is medically called androgenic alopecia for adult males. Females also suffer baldness, but that is less in number. The permanent partial or permanent total hair loss is seen among males. Baldness, if caused due to family tradition or by genetic disorders, is not curable. There are treatments for other types of baldness.. There are about 100,000 hair follicles on an average individual's head. A follicle can develop twenty hairs and the daily hair loss is estimated as hundred strands. This is the natural process of hair loss and it does not make one a bald. More than this average hair loss causes baldness.

Males usually loose hair laterally meaning reduction of hair from both sides of the forehead. Vertical hair loss is also common among males.Usually for hormonal reasons such types ofbaldness is caused.

The reasons for such baldness are many. Major operations, poisoning or pollutions, mental stress, growth of tumours may cause such baldness. If care can be taken on these areas, a reverse of hair loss may be caused. Along with these if physical exercises, especially aerobatical, are undertaken daily the success rate is very high.

A herbal medicine Saw palmetto is effective and cheaper and has less side effects. A Chinese plant Polygonum Multiflorum can cure baldness. However, a complete study on the plant is yet to be made. But in China the people usually use this plant to grow hair on the bald head. Since China has an old civilization, there must be some truth in the practice.

Application of many seed oils is also found effective in curing bald heads. Grapes reduce body fat content and thereby grows hair. Any food item that has less fat content is useful for this purpos. An obese generally loses hair to the extent of turning him a bald. Care should be taken on diet so that one does not turn into a overweight person.

Some people, both old and young, develop spot baldness. In Ayurveda (Indian ancient medical science) use of small onion juice on the spots cure the baldness. You take a small oneon and rub it on the bald areas of the head for at least 15 days regularly. Tou will have your lost hair back on the head.

It is of no use hiding a partial bald head by resorting to particular hair style or wearing hats or wigs. Nothing is permanent and these are no cure fot baldness.

It is one's diet which should be fat less, physical exercise, yoga and some herbal medicines can reverse the hair loss and turn a baldy into a hairy person. However, the total revesal after certain age is not possible.
