Eyes are the mirrors of the mind. You can gauge others' thought about you by sheer looking at their eyes. Eyes are also vital for a natural human body. The world outside would remain unknown if you were blind. It is therefore very necessary to take care of the health of the pair of the eyes.

Eyes are also beautiful. There are many types of eyes. They may be large, small and sharp. They may be blue, seen among the western men and women, black, peculiarities of the Orientals, and brown.

You should take utmost care in preventing the eyes from getting damaged. Reading and writing in poor light may damage the eyes. You may be myopic over a short period of time. Once you get lenses for your eyes, there is no remedy. The only alternative way left is to go for surgery. Every preventive method would save you from these hassles

Using very hot or very cold water on the body covering eyes may also damage eyes. Lukewarm water for washing face and body is advised by doctors.

Wrinkles under the eyes usually are developed during ageing or people with much mental stress. Several sleepless nights may also cause such unwanted development. Almond and sesame oil are good for wiping out such wrinkles from under the eyes.

A few drop of rose waters on eyes cure red sores in eyes. If cotton soaked with milk, honey and pieces of cucumber are placed on closed eyes for about five minutes for about half an hour with minor break periods, red sore eyes get cured easily. Such eye ailments are caused due to fatigue, mental stress and inadequate sleep. It is advisable that such physical stresses are avoided first. If those are beyond control, then go for such natural treatment.

Regular meditation and yoga are good for health, especially for eyes. For weak eyesight, regular doses of a pill made out of sugar, almond and aniseeds are an Ayurvedic prescription. Another Ayurvedic mixture is honey with cardamom. It is said such honey-cardamom compound is good cure poor eyesight. Besides, rinsing eyes with water daily, at least four times a day is also helpful for weak eyes.

It is estimated that more than half of the people over the age of 75 years suffer from this or that type vision problems. They mostly suffer from cataracts, glaucoma or macular degeneration.

To prevent such occurrences, one should first take care of the diet. The lunch and dinner should have plenty of vegetables, fruits and grains. Food containing Vitamin A is useful to contain night blindness and other eye ailments. One should contain the intake of sugar, tobacco, alcohol, fast foods and soft drinks too.

Wearing good sunglasses with cent percent UVA and UVB during daytime under the sun protects the eyes from harmful rays.
