One of the saddest things a new mother could possibly experience is finding out that her infant has been diagnosed with diabetes. However, once the diagnosis has been made it is now your responsibility to ensure that your baby is getting the care and treatment that he or she needs. Unfortunately, many mothers do not realize that their babies are diabetic and they may chalk up the symptoms to typical infant problems. It is important for the right foods to be eaten in order for his blood glucose to stay low.

And equally important is getting your baby conditioned to doing the right things with diet and nutrition so that as he becomes older he will continue to take care of himself with proper diabetic treatments. This can be one of the most significant learning periods for young diabetics.
